Ofsted Inspection

On 9th November 2017 Over Kellet Playgroup was inspected by Ofsted and judged to be GOOD in ALL areas.

Congratulations to Jackie, Lynsey and all the staff! Your dedication to Playgroup is greatly appreciated by everyone.

Pyjama Day!

When our sound of the week was "P", we wore pyjamas ALL DAY!

  

Nurse Anna

Our friend Anna the nurse dropped by to show us her stethoscope, syringes and sick bowls! She answered our questions - "how many beds are in the hospital?" and bandaged our arms. Thank you wonderful Anna!



May 17 - New Garden!

We are so grateful to the Village Hall for letting us create a new garden area. It is providing lots of new play opportunities for the children and is full of natural resources. Thank you to Darron Ellwood for his hard work! The Lancaster Community Foundation and Carnforth Rotary Club (pictured below) made financial contributions to the project - MANY THANKS!




Spring 2017

A ranger from Zoolab brought some amazing animals to Playgroup. We met a python called "Megatron", a tarantula, a cockroach and a giant snail. A treefrog climbed up our wall! The rats were called "Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday". THANKS RANGER!

Christmas Raffle 2015

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our Christmas Coffee morning due to the power cuts.

The raffle was drawn on 11th December (with help from Lyra) - it raised £225!

We would like to thank everybody for donating prizes, buying tickets and for all your support.

Ello Ello Ello, what ave we here then!

Following on the theme of 'People who help us' the children were visited by Luke's father who works for the police force,

No arrests were made as Jackie had full law and order!

Animal Encounters,

The children enjoyed seeing the new born Spring Lambs and Jacob's Pet Snakes,



Tarmac's Treat,

Many thanks to La Farge Tarmac for treating our children to a brand new Playhouse after our old one was destroyed by very strong winds,

As part of one of our current topics looking  into 'People who help us' Nurse Sue came and spoke to the children.



New Wheels!

After another great Nearly New Sale the playgroup has made some welcome upgrades to its fleet of cars-

Unfortunately there wasn't enough to buy Jackie a Ferrari but the children have certainly appreciated the new remote control cars and are looking forward to playing on the new sit on cars. 


Its very rewarding to see new toys in use which have been bought through our fundraising efforts- thanks for everyone which supported the recent Nearly New Sale which made the playgroup £500.

Playgroup benefits from new broadband Internet connection



Playgroup has recently benefited from the installation of broadband internet at the Village Hall.

Not only can the broadband be used to by Jackie and her team for administration, communication and as another tool in engaging the children but it also gives the children another way in which they can learn and develop through structured/ dedicated online resources.

Summer Coffee Morning.

We will be holding our annual Summer Coffee Morning on Monday the 10th of June from 9am till 11am.
We will be offering tea, coffee and a selection of cakes which will be available to buy.
We will also be holding a Summer Raffle- please buy your tickets from Playgroup or by getting in touch with a member of the Playgroup Committee.

Volcanic activity in Over Kellet

A erutping volcano went off in Playgroup....... but dont worry it was all controllled as Elisa was giving the children an insight to volcanoes and the science behind them.
